In January, 1970 on the pressing demand and genuine need of the citizens of Gurgaon, Shri Sanatan Dharma Adarsh Vidyalaya Society, Gurgaon was set up under the auspices of Smt. Bhagwati Vashistha pioneer of education in Gurgaon, a great humanitarian and social worker and Sh. Shiv Narayan Vashistha, educationist and an eminent lawyer Pt. Hari Ram Shastri and Pt. Basant Lal Sharma were pioneers whose untiring efforts contributed immensely. Today the school is run by an efficient management under the presidentship of a dynamic educationist Shrimati Asha Sharma. Under her expertise the school has grown from strength to strength. She has successfully set up a new building in spacious sylvan surroundings in Sec-47, Sohna Road, Gurgaon.

S. D. Adarsh Vidyalaya is a coeducational English Medium Senior Secondary School. One of the objectives of our institution is to initiate the students to the rich cultural heritage of our country and to provide the basic concept of religion. Besides inculcating patriotic spirit and grooming children into worthy citizens, the school inculcates and develops a cosmopolitan outlook. The physical, cultural and intellectual development of the children receive utmost care. The school attaches great importance to varied activities outside the daily class routine. These activities are designed to develop important traits of character such as self confidence, diligence and competitive spirit.
